About Us

Middlesbrough Football club was formed in 1876 by members of Middlesbrough Cricket Club at a meeting at the Albert Park Hotel.

Boro were elected to the Football League in 1899, before moving to Ayresome Park in 1903.

In 1995 the club moved to the all-seated, 30,000 capacity Riverside Stadium, which they still call home today.

2004, the Carling Cup and also reached the final of the UEFA Cup in 2005.

Today, Boro are managed by former Real Madrid defender Aitor Karanka. The 2015/16 season is Karanka'’s second season in charge of the club, and the club is currently playing in the Sky Bet Championship.
